Go Hard

Go Hard or go Home.

This was the theme of the 2014 edition of the long awaited Mary’s Hill SDA Sport and Family Day. Held  for the first time at the Mt Grace recreation grounds, it was an evening/night sport with a difference – New games, new challenges and re-energized village teams. You had to go hard or go home. The Whim team came out prepared with an exceptional display of marching skills and uniformity in the march pass event which they eventually won followed by Mary’s Hill, Union, Spring Garden. Promised to be bigger than its previous versions, certainly lived up to the hype from news games to bigger prizes. From the childrens’s bunny hop to the tug-of-war provided real excitement. The clash of the fastest men in the 100m event was eagerly anticipated. This years battle featured the top fastest men in the church – Soren Bishop and Ayindae Martin. It was a tight finish indeed with Martin edging Bishop for the top spot and bragging rights. The much anticipted Aerobics burnout was the main event with many contenders for the top prize, which the orgnizers kept secret till the last moment. In the end there was only one person standing – Michelle Beckles, claiming the top prize of a brand new Laptop.

Well organized, well executed, well attended – congrats to the AY Team lead by Kereem Baynes.

See you next year.
